The Overlake School Mathematics and Computer Science Department

We are a 12-person department comprised of teachers with 5 to over 25 years of teaching experience. We are excited to work with our students every day, to continuously refine our craft, and to live up to Overlake’s mission in our classrooms. We love teaching in a small liberal arts setting, where the mathematics and computer science program is a part of a well-rounded curriculum. We value our daily conversations on teaching, on mathematics, and on how we can better guide our students. We believe in getting our students to ask “why?” and not just expecting to be told “what.” We embrace our different backgrounds and approaches to mathematics education. We teach to and learn from our students, and we make mistakes and know that it’s part of the learning we model for our students. We respect our students and are proud to be a part of the Overlake community.
